Homemade Instant Hot Chocolate

There is nothing better on a cold or gloomy day than a steaming cup of hot chocolate. In a pinch, a packet of Swiss Miss or other instant hot chocolate will do. If you have some time, there is always the traditional hot cocoa way to go……you know, the one on the back of the cocoa can. I prefer the taste of homemade hot chocolate with the convenience of an instant. Problem is, that can get pricey when you have a pretty big family, or a healthy hot chocolate appetite like I do.

This is what you will need:

So, here is a recipe for the best of both worlds:

10 Cups Powdered Milk

4 Cups Powdered Sugar

2 Cups Coffee Creamer (the cheap stuff works great)

2 Cups Cocoa

Optional add 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon

Hot Chocolate Powder Creamer

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. Take it slow, powdered sugar is very light and can get everywhere, so stir it up slow and thorough. I use a large Tupperware cereal container to keep the mixture in along with a 1/4 cup measuring cup.

Hot Chocolate Powder

1 scoop per 8 oz. of hot water (Quick Tip: I run water only through my coffee pot so I have a pot of hot water ready for hot chocolate in a matter of minutes)

…..add marshmallows or whipped topping.

Cup Of Hot Chocolate

……..and ENJOY!!!!!
